VIideo: California high school girls soccer game cancelled after brawl breaks out - East Bay Times

West Covina and Charter Oak’s girls soccer game was called just before halftime after a fight broke out on the field, and then the benches cleared and both teams rushed to the middle for more pushing and shoving.

It was 0-0 when it was postponed.

It was all captured on video, which shows two Charter Oak players falling toward the ground toward the end of the melee.

It appeared to start when a West Covina player grabbed a Charter Oak player’s jersey and threw her to the ground. a Charter Oak player rushed in to shove back and then it appears nearly everyone got involved.

One of the Charter Oak players, it was confirmed from a family member, was knocked unconscious briefly, and went to a nearby hospital for observation.

During the melee, It appears one of West Covina coaches may have been shoved a Charter Oak player to the ground.

Both school administrations are aware of the incident and will conduct an investigation and work with the CIF Southern Section to determine the appropriate penalties as a result.

Generally, any player involved in fights or players that leave the bench during one are suspended from their next game.
