ALL-SCHOLASTICS

JACK AVELLAR, NAUSET

The senior keeper was stellar as Nauset’s last line of defense, allowing eight goals in 22 games while posting 11 shutouts to earn United Soccer Coaches All-New England recognition. Avellar was also named the Cape and Island League MVP. Avellar was a part of two state title teams and had 59 career shutouts.

CHARLES BLACKER, SCITUATE

A dynamic senior striker, Blacker displayed his offensive prowess with 23 goals and 23 assists this season. He was named a United Soccer Coaches All-New England player and the Patriot League Fisher MVP. Blacker, who owns the program record for career goals with 56, is a National Honor Society and student government member.

MICHAEL CHUN, SILVER LAKE

A four-year varsity player, the senior captain was an integral part in the Lakers’ success. He controlled play through his midfield and forward positions and was named the Patriot League Keenan MVP and was an EMSCA All-State selection. Chun, who plays club soccer for FCUSA 2001 NPL team, plans to study computer science in college.

LEONARDO COELHO, MILFORD

The junior defensive midfielder played a pivotal role in the Scarlet Hawks Div. 2 South title this season. Coelho could break down opposing defenses regularly and finished the campaign with seven goals and 10 assists. He earned Hockomock League MVP and EMSCA All-State honors.

DYLAN CORBETT, LEXINGTON

The senior midfielder and captain helped the Minutemen capture a second straight Middlesex League title this season. After tallying five goals and nine assists, he was named a Middlesex League All-Star and was a EMSCA All-State selection. Corbett spends his spare time volunteering for Special Olympics Best Buddies.

ZACHARY DAVIS, ST. JOHN’S PREP

A two-time Herald All-Scholastic, the senior center midfielder put the finishing touches on an exceptional career with the Eagles, recording 16 goals and 21 assists. Davis earned Catholic Conference Player of the Year and EMSCA All-State recognition this season. He will play soccer next year at Stonehill College.

STEVEN DONOVAN, NEEDHAM

The senior center midfielder was essential to the Rockets making a run to a state final this season, which included capturing a Div. 1 South title. A two-year captain, Donovan tallied 10 goals and 10 assists this year to be named a United Soccer Coaches All-American and the Bay State Conference Herget MVP. Donovan also plays baseball and will attend Wesleyan University next year.

LUKAS DRAHOS, MYSTIC VALLEY

The senior forward was a prolific scorer. Drahos netted 42 goals to go along with 14 assists to earn Commonwealth Athletic Conference honors for the third time. For his career, Drahos registered 115 goals and 42 assists. He plays club soccer for SFC New England.

ROBERTO DUBON, EAST BOSTON

Dubon showcased vital versatility to lead the Jets by playing defense, midfield and striker. The senior totaled 25 goals and 16 assists this season to earn Boston City League Player of the Year and EMSCA All-State honors. Dubon, who earned a sportsmanship award in 2018, finished his high school career with 36 goals and 42 assists.

LUKE FAGERSON, MEDWAY

The junior center midfielder starred for the Mustangs as they captured a Division 3 state title this season. He tallied 19 goals and nine assists to earn EMSCA All-State recognition. The two-time Tri-Valley League All-Star plans to play soccer in college and plays club soccer for NEFC NPL.

RODRIGO FREITAS, WATERTOWN

The midfielder excelled in his junior season, recording 13 goals and 11 assists to spearhead the Raiders. For his efforts, Freitas was named the Middlesex League Freedom MVP and a EMSCA All-State player. He has a goal of playing Div. 1 collegiate soccer and plays at the club level for Boston City FC.

KELLEN FURSE, MANCHESTER ESSEX

Behind the senior midfielder’s dynamic play, the Hornets were Div. 4 North finalist for the third time in four years. Furse scored 22 goals and added eight assists to earn Cape Ann League Player of the Year and United Soccer Coaches All-New England honors. A member of the National Honor Society, Furse is also a standout basketball and tennis player.

RYAN HART, BISHOP FEEHAN

An anchor defensively for the Eastern Athletic Conference champion Shamrocks, the senior center back’s stellar play helped Feehan to a Div. 2 South final appearance. Hart also totaled five goals and six assists and was named an EMSCA All-Star. Hart finished his career with 10 goals and 11 assists to go along with his stout defense.

WILLIAM HOFHEINZ, WINCHESTER

It was a senior season to remember for the midfielder, whose major contributions helped the Sachems claim a Division 2 state title. The Middlesex League Liberty MVP tallied four goals and 11 assists and earned United Soccer Coaches All-New England recognition. Hofheinz is a National Honor Society member and standout tennis player.

MARK HUYNH, ANDOVER

The senior center midfielder was crucial to the Golden Warriors’ success this season. Huynh was not only named the Merrimack Valley Conference Player of the Year, but also earned EMSCA All-State honors. A high-honor roll student, Huynh plays club soccer for Valeo FC and plans to major in psychology in college.

LORENZO MANCINI, XAVERIAN

The Hawks enjoyed a 14-win season with the senior center midfielder playing a pivotal role in the team’s success. He notched nine goals and five assists to be named a Catholic Conference All-Star for the third time and was a EMSCA All-State selection. An honors student, Mancini is a member of the business club.

JOE MEPHAM, LINCOLN-SUDBURY

The senior midfielder and captain’s strong play helped the Warriors to the top of Div. 1 North. Mepham recorded five goals and five assists and was named a EMSCA All-Star player for a second time, and a Dual County League First Team All-Star for a third time. He will play soccer next year at Endicott and study environmental science.

COLIN MILLIKEN, OLIVER AMES

An offensive stalwart for the 15-win Tigers, the junior center midfielder registered 11 goals and 17 assists this season. He was named a Hockomock League All-Star and an EMSCA All-Star. Milliken, who wants to play college in soccer, earned the team’s academic award and also runs track and plays futsal.

WILLIAM O’BRIEN, NORTON

The senior forward and captain didn’t lack in offensive production this season, tallying 17 goals and 21 assists to be named the Tri-Valley League Small MVP. O’Brien also earned EMSCA All-State recognition. A 4-year varsity starter, O’Brien finished his career with 37 goals and 30 assists as well as a three-time TVL All-Star. O’Brien has accepted an offer to attend Middlebury and play soccer for the Panthers next season.

KYLE OSBORNE, COHASSET

The senior midfielder was a catalyst for the Skippers as they captured a Div. 4 South title this season. Osborne scored 25 goals and added eight assists to be named a South Shore League All-Star and an EMSCA All-Star. Osborne is an honor roll student and plans to play soccer in college.

MATIAS OU, BEDFORD

The senior center defensive midfielder was a key cog for the Div. 3 North champion Buccaneers. Ou anchored a vaunted defense that allowed a program record four goals this season. For his efforts, he was named the Dual County League MVP and earned United Soccer Coaches All-New England honors.

THOMAS SOJKA, HOLLISTON

Finding the back of the net wasn’t a problem for the senior striker, who tallied 20 goals in his final season with the Panthers. Sojka earned Tri-Valley League Large MVP honors along with EMSCA All-State recognition. Sojka also runs spring track and plans to play soccer in college.

LUIS SPINOLA, BROCKTON

The senior striker/fullback earned all-Eastern Mass. honors after scoring 14 goals and adding eight assists in leading the Boxers to the Div. 1 South sectional finals. A high honor roll student, Spinola ended his career with 16 goals and 23 assists for 39 points.

DOMINGOS TAVARES, BURKE

The freshman forward was a welcome addition to the Bulldogs, helping Burke claim both a Div. 4 North and Boston City League titles this season. Tavares tallied 38 goals, including six in six games during the state tournament. Tavares plays club soccer for Valeo FC.

AARON VAZ, MEDFORD

The senior forward and two-year captain produced consistently on offense this season for the Mustangs, netting 28 goals and adding 15 assists. Vaz earned United Soccer Coaches All-New England recognition as well being named the Greater Boston League MVP. A National Honor Society member, Vaz finished his career with 81 goals and 42 assists.
